Task Force Chair: Bob Atchinson
Task Force Description: Transportation represents a major household expense and a major contributor to Vermont’s greenhouse gas emissions. This task force is working to develop new alternatives to increase flexibility while also decreasing costs and emissions.
Task Force Update: This task force has worked with representatives from Go Vermont to gain a more comprehensive picture of the different transportation resources available in Marshfield and Plainfield. The plan is to launch a campaign that promotes those existing resources while also possibly developing improved options.
- In collaboration with the Task Force, VTrans has assembled an information sheet about local transportation options and schedules specific to Marshfield and Plainfield. View that information sheet here.
- The task force is also excited to promote the new Route 15/14 commuter bus with service north to Hardwick/Morrisville and south to Barre. This free bus is operated by RCT and a full schedule can be viewed/downloaded here. A localized information sheet on this new bus has been developed and can be downloaded here.
- The task force is also considering participation in The Hitching Post program.
This task force will meet next on December 12 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at the Old Schoolhouse Commons in Marshfield.
