One Year Later and Milton has Reasons to Celebrate
Our Community Visits program is a way for towns to engage and bring together residents, set common goals and directions in a neutral and facilitated structure, and access resources that will help them take action on those goals. The Community Visit program gets citizens engaged in working for their communities and connects them to the resources they need to be successful.
Vermonters across the state know that local action makes our communities vibrant. But local action often needs support from regional, state, and even federal scales for success. To respond to this need in Vermont, the Vermont Council on Rural Development provides local leaders with the resources they need to build capacity for their communities as they look to the future through our Community Visit Program.
Since 1996 VCRD has conducted over 85 Community Visits, usually working in two to four communities each year from all across the state. For details on specific communities and their accomplishments, goals, and resources, please visit our Reports Page.
