The Marshfield and Plainfield communities participated in VCRD's Climate Economy Model Community Program (CEMCP) in 2019. CEMCP is community-driven process with local leaders, VCRD, Green Mountain Power, and Efficiency Vermont to cultivate economic development, innovation, and affordability in the face of climate change. Over 150 residents participated in the “Revitalizing All of Marshfield and Plainfield: RAMP Into the Future” process with support from 20 visiting resource team members. Read the RAMP Report and Action Plan. Over 70 volunteers joined task force groups that are working to:

  • Support and Strengthen Both Village Centers & Improve the Route 2 Corridor Travelling Through Both Towns;
  • Build a Farm and Food Network in Marshfield and Plainfield;
  • Improve Transportation Options to Increase Mobility, Reduce Costs, and Reduce Emissions in Marshfield and Plainfield; and
  • Reduce and Transform Energy Use & Increase Renewable Energy Generation for Homes, Businesses, Twinfield School, the Towns, and Other Institutions.

As the task force groups move priorities to action they are supported for up to a year by VCRD and on an ongoing basis with resources from federal, state, regional, local, non-profit, and business leaders who participated in the process.
