VCRD and our partners in the Working Lands Coalition had a major victory in the past legislative session. Legislators recognized the crucial role of enterprise investments in stimulating new farm and forest innovation, stimulating new businesses and jobs, and creatively expanding collaborative marketing, distribution and added $1,000,000 to the Governor’s initial recommendation of $595,000 for the Working Lands Enterprise Fund. Half of this new funding will support innovative dairy farm efficiencies or value-added development and all of it will seed creative ways to drive enterprises forward.
Farm and forest businesses, and the families that lead them, are vital to our rural economic future and today the Working Lands Coalition is dedicated to encouraging their success, ensuring state support, and evaluating crucial next opportunities for Vermont’s land-based businesses. Join the Working Landscape Partnership to add your voice, keep informed, and help shape the campaign for Vermont’s Working Landscape!
