A $100,000 grant from the Working Lands Enterprise Fund to the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board will support the delivery of The Forest Viability Program. Participants will receive in-depth, one-on-one assistance. Ellen Kahler, executive director of Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund, said the expansion will provide more robust services to the forest industry in a new way. “We wanted to make it really easy for the entrepreneurs to find the services they would benefit from the most,” Kahler said. “The big idea here is that the forest products industry is a billion dollar industry in the state of Vermont, and they have not had the benefit of a farm to plate strategic plan like the ag sector has had.” Click here for access to the full article.
