Here's an email update we received from a member of the Hinesburg Planning Commission.
Keep up the forward progress on the Working Landscape Partnership! I thought you might like to hear about one of your success stories in progress. Inspired in part by the Working Landscape discussion (all the way back to the initial summit at the Statehouse in Dec. 2010), the Hinesburg Planning Commission has proposed to revise Hinesburg’s rural area zoning to expand the types of allowed uses to include integrated on-farm and on-forest uses as well as more stand-alone commercial businesses to support the working farm and forest economy. To date, Hinesburg residents have been very supportive of the concept. We’ll see what Hinesburgers think about the “final” proposal when the Planning Commission holds a public hearing on September 12.
