Join us at the all-day e-Communities in a Digital Age workshop at Vermont Technical College on February 16. Take away lots of new ideas about how digital tools and broadband can be used in your community to Create jobs; Reinvent your schools; Attract visitors; Improve civic involvement; and Enliven your community

Topics include ways to increase public internet access in your town (and why), a hands-on lab about online tools for business, a showcase of how technology is expanding the classroom for 4-6th graders, and the emerging role for our public libraries.

The flooding from Hurricane Irene showed how essential social media and the Web have become for keeping communications open in an emergency. People from affected and supporting communities will discuss how they used a variety of online tools before, during and after the storm.

Citizen Leadership in a Connected Age

The e-Vermont Community Broadband Project hosted Citizen Leadership in a Connected Age on May 21, 2011, at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, VT. The conference focused on how Internet use is expanding at the community level across Vermont to improve economic and local service opportunities, with the goal to further, not compromise, our values around community. Community leaders as well as those in education, technology, business and nonprofit sectors shared their expertise.
