The Morrisville Food Co-op (MoCo) Task Force is holding a community meeting, “Community Engagement 2013,” on June 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peoples Academy in Morrisville, to launch its member/ownership pledge drive and talk about the next steps in developing a co-op in downtown Morrisville.

The task force began working on MoCo in the spring of 2011, following community meetings sponsored by the Vermont Council on Rural Development. Work on the first phase primarily entailed securing a grant to conduct a feasibility study. That study has recently been completed and the results will be reported at the meeting. A question and answer session is planned to update the public on the project.

MoCo organizers say community involvement is essential to reaching the goal of a member-owned, opened-to-all food co-op. Guests at the meeting can sign up to volunteer on a committee.
