20 Grantees will Receive Almost $220,000 in Total Funding

Governor Peter Shumlin, Agency of Agriculture Secretary Chuck Ross, Dept. of Forests, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Michael Snyder and the Working Lands Enterprise Board will announce the 1st round of grant recipients from the “Enterprise Investment Area” of the Working Lands Enterprise Fund on Thursday May 2nd at 10am in Room 11 at the State House in Montpelier.

Last month, Gov. Shumlin announced his priorities for the upcoming legislative session. As notable as what we heard was something we didn’t hear: discussion about economic development and Vermont’s working landscape.

The good news is that a little more than a year from now, Vermont will have broadband infrastructure that reaches every house in our state. In fact, according to the Vermont Telecommunications Authority, almost 95 percent of Vermont buildings already fall within broadband coverage.
