Blog Moves to Archives - Even Better Things to Come Soon

As the e-Vermont partners continue to work in communities around the state, we are generating a lot of new knowledge about using broadband resources for rural development. In 2011, we will be developing many different materials with this information - case studies, interviews, videos, images, links to key websites, worksheets, and interactive platforms.

The Know It All by AJ Jacobs is a 2006 book of the “I’m going to do a weird thing every day for a year and write about it” genre. In the most famous book of this category, Julie & Julia, blogger Julie cooked every recipe in Mastering the Art of French Cooking. In The Know It All, AJ read the entire Encyclopaedia Brittanica. . . all 33,000 pages of it. He was reading the encyclopedia because he suspected that, as he grew older, he was forgetting more things than he learned.

In October, I wrote a blog post on the business trainings offered by the e-Vermont advisor at the VT Small Business Development Center. Another service that VtSBDC brings to e-Vermont communities is individual advising sessions with small businesses, and modest funding for selected business projects.

This week, West Rutland offered local residents a workshop on Computer Basics as part of the e-Vermont program there. The Vermont State Colleges are running this workshop, and similar ones, in e-Vermont communities around the state through the winter and spring.
